FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Microsoft®
Expression®
Web gets Ecommerce
AUSTIN, Texas (August 15,
2007). Web site merchants using Microsoft
Expression Web can now add ecommerce and shopping cart
capabilities directly to their web sites. ComCity®,
creators of the popular ecommerce solution SalesCart™,
announced today that it has released a new ecommerce
shopping cart software add-in for Expression Web called SalesCart Express™.
Microsoft Expression Web is
Microsoft's newest web site design tool which replaced
Microsoft FrontPage® in December of 2006.
The release of SalesCart Express coincides with
Microsoft's announcement earlier this year that it has
discontinued its' own ecommerce offering formerly called
B-Central™.
Up to now, B-Central users have had to virtually
start over with their ecommerce storefronts built with
FrontPage and Expression. However, now B-Central users
can easily upgrade their shopping carts and ecommerce
web sites to Expression Web and to SalesCart Express.
We believe that SalesCart Express will once again
allow everyday merchants to add full featured shopping
cart capabilities securely to their web site using
Microsoft Expression, said Michael Barber, president
and CEO of ComCity.
SalesCart Express is the
first complete ecommerce shopping cart service add-in
for Expression Web that provides advanced real-time
shipping options like USPS, and FedEx along with support
for multiple transaction processing gateways but
includes a merchant account as well. To date,
other ecommerce add-ins for Expression Web have been
template based or 3rd party payment specific (PayPal)
add-ins. Add-ins are a special kind of
software because they actually becomes indistinguishable
from the rest of Expression Web becoming even a part of
the softwares' menu. Add-ins make it easier for
Expression Web users to use the software because they do
not need to exit the software or transfer the web site
content and products to some other 3rd party software.
