Older SalesCart Software
Products based on ASP and PHP to be discontinued.
AUSTIN, Texas (November
15, 2006). ComCity, creators of the popular E-commerce solution
SalesCart, announced today that it will immediately
discontinue several older products based on ASP and PHP
scripting including SalesCart Standard,
SalesCart PRO, SalesCart SQL and SalesCart-X software
products.
These product discontinuations coincide with the
obsolescence of the Microsoft FrontPage product line.
With the introduction of
ASP.NET 2.0, we no longer see ASP as a viable long term
platform, ComCity will fully embrace the new ASP.NET
technology with its SalesCart NET product link and
future new product releases in the pipeline,
said Michael
Barber, ComCity CEO. For the time being, ComCity
will also discontinue PHP as a supported scripting
platform in its shopping cart products due to the
popularity of the ASP.NET platform.
ComCity
will discontinue all Free support, product enhancements
and bug support for these older legacy products immediately.
ComCity will however offer paid support for these
products for a short term for existing software users.
