Are your customers "Stepping out" at your Checkout !

A recent study by BizRate.com shows that 30% of consumers leave online shopping carts without even making a purchase.  The largest majority abandon their shopping carts at the checkout stage. The study predicts three quarters of all online shoppers will abandon at least one online shopping cart between June and August of this year.  The dollar amount in lost sales is staggering. Is it because competition is so fierce? Or is it the shopping cart itself?

The product option prices are added to the original item and a total is given. But most importantly, the consumer is able to see a running total of his/her order at all times, hence, eliminating the need to toggle between pages or pretend to check out just to obtain a total.  All of this flexibility comes with a checkout system that can be customized to look exactly like the rest of the checkout system. 

E-commerce is very fierce on the Internet. The merchant no longer just has one target audience in their hometown or specialty area. The merchant no longer has just the competitor down the street, but has a whole world of competitors. Since the online store is open to the World, the store must be prepared to cater to the fickle shopper, the extreme shopper and the paranoid shopper.
